Session #102 · 1991–93

Speech #1020124361

It requires the Secretary of Transportation to identify existing and emerging trade corridors and transportation subsystems that facilitate trade between the United States. Canada. and Mexico. I am most optimistic that this initiative will provide the necessary foundation for the future success of the North American Free Trade Agreement. In the next 18 months. the Secretary of Transportation will develop recommendations for the improvement of rall. highway. water. air freight centers. and border crossing facilities to facilitate trade between the United States. Canada. and Mexico. Although this will be a large undertaking. it is a top priority in order to increase our trade between States and our closest foreign neighbors.
