This Is a simple issue of right and wrong. Dictatorial persecution of Innocent civilians Is a practice that must end. My legislation will send a clear message to President Assad that this is an issue about which the American people and government care deeply. Mr. Speaker. I urge all members of the House to support House Concurrent Resolution 188 and send the proper signal to President Assad that depriving Syrian Jews of their fundamental right to freedom of emigration and movement will not only jeopardize the peace process. but will also have a negative effect on Syrias future relationship with the United States.
