Speech #1020113307

With the responsibilities and visibility that distinguished Mrs. YIps position as a local leader in San Diego. she was a true Inspiration to our leaders and our citizens. Beverley Yip did not pursue the prominence that she ultimately attained as part of an ambitious cornpetition for power or publicity. she persisted and triumphed because she spoke out and fought for the immigrants who thought they lacked the means to Improve their communities. She showed them. and others who will follow. how to achieve the America and resolve mutual problems--together. I am honored to pay tribute to this great lady who has done so much for so many. Beverley Yip is survived by her husband Phillip Yip daughter Janice. son Keith and his wife Cindy. May the RECORD show that she will be greatly missed by all. that she exemplifled the finest qualities of our immigrant Nation. and that she served America well.
