Session #102 · 1991–93

Speech #1020108365

Recognizing that New Jersey has one of the highest per capita rates of HIV infection and pediatric AIDS. the Senate committee reporL encouraged NIAID to create more clinical trials at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey [UMDNJ] in Newark for research purposes that will benefit women and minorities in New Jersey and nationwide. The conference report upholds this report language. This conference agreement also provides full funding of $410.2 million for domestic refugee and entrant assistance programs. The House originally cut $117 million from the Refugee Cash and Medical Assistance Program [RCMA]. I was pleased that the Senate restored these funds. I requested that funding.
