Speech #1020066248

There has not been a single instance. as far as they know. as far as the Federal Bureau of Investigation knows. not a single instance of any sabotage or espionage on the part of a resident Japanese or a Japanese American in the United States h...ore. during. or since Pearl Harbor. Now. I have or i )r two letters I would like to read just to ir dicate how some of the people we are tall:tg about. pleading for. feel about this thing. There are two terms that have been used quite often this morning. I would like to clarify them. The term "issei" means the immigrant Japanese who came from Japan to the United States. The term "nisei" means American citizens of Japanese descent. Then I would like to introduce the term "hansei." That means half nisei.
