Assistance for farmworkers is also provided in the form of grants to public agencies and nonprofits that provide emergency services to lowincome migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Because many are ineligible for unemployment benefits. this type of temporary aid is vital. This aid also extends to permanent farmworkers and packinghouse workers who meet the income eligibility standards.
