It was a very impressive operation and we now welcome home those who impressed us so much. The language of our speakers describe this as a victory for liberty and freedom. However. as stunning as the military victory was. the fight for freedom has just begun. Reports of ongoing human rights abuses in Kuwait indicate that we need to sustain our concern for the freedom of the Kuwaiti people. Further. as grateful as I am for the safe homecoming of our men and women. the most impressive movement home has been the return of Kurdish refugees to northern Iraq. Mr. President.
