Speech #1020035944

Our countrys current recession requires many beneficiaries must supplement their Social Security benefits with additional income. I do not believe they should be penalized for wanting to work. If older citizens want to work past the traditional retirement age. I think they should do so without having their Social Security benefits reduced based on formulas created by Congress. Certainly it must border on unconstitutionality. I come from a family of Greek immigrants who literally live to work. I know many persons who would wither away and die if they had to stop working. For these people. their jobs are where they get their feeling of selfworth and selfconfidence because they have worked for many years.
