I can only assume the reason why I have been. in part. able to survive politically in the State of Delaware these last 20 years is in large part because Mrs. Harkins has probably said to her son. "Michael. you be careful about Joe Biden. He is my friend." So Mrs. Harkins first made her mark in New Jersey where she was a beauty queen. She was a beauty queen from Ventnor. NJ. "Ms. Ventnor." but fortunately for us she emigrated. crossed the river into Delaware in 1939. and married her husband. Eugene Harkins. Together they raised three children. and they now boast seven grandchildren.
