Of the 17.000 coalition forces on the ground supporting this humanitarian effort. 10.000 are American. Of the 7.900 forces on the ground in northern Iraq. over 3.000 are American. Of the 2.795 missions flown. 1.597 have been by the Americans. Of the 13.000 tons of supplies delivered. over half are from the Americans. Even as the United States mobilizes to build secure refugee camps in Iraq. hundreds of thousands of refugees remain stranded in Turkey. Iraq and Iran. And so. while we provide funding to pay the bills for what has already been done. we also must provide the funding to keep this effort going.
