Session #102 · 1991–93

Speech #1020029068

There are three Pony Express station sites in NebraskaRock Creek Station near Falrbury. an original Pony Express stop building near Gothenbury. and the Mud Springs Pony Express. Stagecoach. and Telegraph Station near Bridgeport. Likewise. the California Trail was a vital link between East and West as a emigration route for thousands of settlers and prospectors moving west from points along the Missouri River to the west coast during the mid1800s. This bill will be another vehicle recognizing the historical significance of the westward expansion of our country. I commend my colleagues from Nebraska for supporting this bill and for Chairman VENTOS and Chairman MILLERS work on bringing this bill to the floor.
