We must provide the resources to bring in medical experts immediately. While medical supplies are in seriously short supply. some vaccines and antibiotics have made it to the mountain regions. However. these camps need the medical personnel to deliver care. Finally. Mr. Speaker. I cannot emphasize enough that the U.S. military should not be in the longterm business of operating refugee camps. Make no mistake. our service people are to be commended for their swift and professional efforts. However. it is the United Nations that is the appropriate organization to run these camps and provide protection for the Kurdish people.
