However. the experts tell us our medical system is already near collapse. We have a big enough problem with AIDS now in this Nation already. We do not need to add to this problem or increase this great burden by taking AIDS patients from all over the world. and thus increasing the burden on American taxpayers. Mr. Speaker. this could ultimately lead to other Americans being shortchanged and not receiving adequate treatment for other Illnesses. I urge Members to Join with me in supporting this legislation which the people want. and to prohibit people with AIDS from immigrating freely into this Nation.
