We encouraged them to stand against the miserable tyrant. Saddam Hussein. and I do not know where we are. Pilots and soldiers coming back for their parades at home break down in tears about seeing those poor refugees being gunned down in their sights. and they can do nothing. The euphoria of 3 weeks ago is being wiped out by a policy that I am at a loss to understand. I would encourage the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to reassess what we are and what we are standing for. the lack of leadership that the United States is exerting today.
