This provision requires the Office of Management and Budget to submit monthly reports on the costs of U.S. military operations connected with the Persian Gulf war. and on allied contributions to offset the costs of U.S. military operations. This provision also requires reports on related burdensharing not directly involving the United States. The Secretary of State and the Secretary of Treasury will be required to report on participation in the military coalition. as well as on economic aid to frontline states. refugee assistance. and financial support for military efforts of other allied nations. This provision was passed as a separate bill by the House of Representatives. which is designated H.R. 586. and it was referred to our Armed Services Committee. We have amended the House reporting requirements slightly and reported it as part of this supplemental authorization bill. and also as a separate bill.
