Speech #1020013404

Speaker. my colleagues. friends of 811 Conte. as I said at Silvios funeral. this is & time I had hoped would never come. for like so many of you. I am grieved to lose one of my very dearest friends. and one of yours. We didnt know one another before he came to the Congress in 1958. but the evertightening bond of our friendship through the years has indeed been one of the nicest things that has happened to me. We had a great deal in common. We were both sons of immigrants. We grew up during the Depression and learned early on what work was all about. We both served overseas during World War II.
