I rise today to pay tribute to an individual who has dedicated the past 36 years of his life to the service of the Jewish community at large. Rabbi Dr. Philip Lazowski. Born In Belitza. Poland. Rabbi Lazowski struggled through difficult times In his youth. surviving the Nazi Holocaust. where he was forced to hide for 21/ years In a wooded refuge with his father and brother. In 1945. Rabbi Lazowski immigrated to the United States. He studied at Yeshiva University where he received a bachelor of religious education In 1955 and a masters of science In 1960. Rabbi Lazowski received his doctorate in Jewish literature In 1970.
