Session #102 · 1991–93

Speech #1020008593

Sadly. the crisis there has been largely ignored by the rest of the world. Liberia clearly deserves priority attention by the international as well as the traditional donors. In order to bring some greater understanding to the crisis in Liberia. and to inform the Congress on what more needs to be done to assist the people of Liberia. with whom we have had such a long. historic association. I asked the Subcommittee on Immigration and Refugee Affairs to report on current developments in Liberia. I ask that the text of the bill and a summary of their findings and recommendations be printed at this point in the RECORD.
