Speech #1010244988

Mr. Speaker. this is an old subject that has come up time after time. It seems to me that almost every time we have an immigration bill this subject comes up. and someone tries to insert in the bill an I.D. card. An I.D. card is something that is very repugnant to a free society. and especially since the history of I.D. cards is so well known to most of the people of this world. One might ask who would be asked to show the I.D. card as someone walks down the street in an American city or an American town.
