It is in the Interest of those who support human rights worldwide that the rights of the people of Hong Kong be preserved after 1997. and that Hong Kong remain a working example of human and economic freedom that can set an example for the rest of China. The global community must make it clear that preserving the freedoms of the people of Hong Kong Is a priority and that the world is closely monitoring the actions of the Chinese regime as 1997 draws near.
