Speaker. on December 1. 1990. Lincoln State Bank. In Milwaukee. WI. will celebrate its 70th anniversary. I rise today to pay tribute to this Institution which has served its community faithfully for the past 70 years. Prior to Lincoln State Banks inception. the southside of Milwaukee was without a bank to service its growing number of Polish immigrants. With this in mind. plans were set forth to organize such a bank. On December 1. 1920. the desire to open a bank became reality. as Uncoln State Bank officially opened its doors. and became the first Polish bank in the State of Wisconsin.
