Mr. Chairman. I rise in support of this bill. the Family Unity and Employment Opportunity Immigration Act. H.R. 4300. I commend the members of the Judiciary Committee. who have spent many long hors on putting together this bill. which will result in improving our Nations immigration policy. I support the bills provisions which are designed to ensure family unity. Our countrys current immigration policy is simply not adequate to meet the needs of the many individuals who are legitimately seeking to abide by our Nations laws and are having to endure waiting periods of as long as 15 years to reunite with close family members. This bill also seeks to Increase ethnic diversity in our country by Increasing the number of immigrant visas to individuals from European countries while maintaining the the current immigration policy based on family relationship. I believe this bill is successful in achieving that goal. I urge my colleagues to support this bill.
