Right now it is housing but I would say I think in the future it is probably going to be Jobs too. because they are highly skilled people in nearly every case. Jobs were going to be very difficult to come by. I visited a socalled absorption center where newly arriving Soviet Jews are processed. and provided support for their transition to life in Israeli society. There I learned of the enormous monetary costs involved. and of the challenge of providing housing and jobs for what most expect to be a total of 1 million or more immigrants. To experience the human dimension of the problems involved. I met with several families in the initial stages of their resettlement.
