The resolution calls on the Government of Liberia to cease the killing of unarmed civilians and to begin an immediate investigation of the widespread allegations of gross human rights violations by Liberian troops. The perpetrators of these crimes must be prosecuted and brought to justice. The resolution also calls for urgent efforts on the part of international relief agencies to provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance to the thousands of Liberian refugees in neighboring countries.
