These projects will help Congress and the executive branch determine whether a callin system. improved documents. or a combination of the two would be the best method to improve and simplify our worker verification system. Let me emphasize that this legislation is not written in stone. I fully intend to discuss my proposal with the administration. with GAO. and with other Members of Congress who are interested in this issue. I expect to work closely with Members of the House Immigration Subcommittee who participated in the debate on the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. I also intend to seek the counsel of my fine friend Senator PAT MOYNIHAN. who has a very good proposal to improve the Social Security card. which is reflected in his bill. S. 214.
