It appears that even in the last few weeks. reports of antiSemitism have grown. Analysts attribute this to a number of factors. These include increasing political and economic instability in the Soviet Union. creating a need for scapegoats. growing interethnic tensions in the Soviet Union. and the pogroms against Armenians living in Azerbaijan.
