One issue on which we all have been gratified to see some movement is the area of Jewish emigration. In recent months. thousands of Soviet Jews have been given permission to leave. Unfortunately. the millions who remain in the Soviet Union are not free from harassment. With the new freedom to speak freely. old ethnic conflicts are resurfacing.
