Session #101 · 1989–91

Speech #1010123001

It is documented in indictments which were handed down relating to the genocidein trials which the Turkish Government conducted: Following World War I. the new Turkish Government instituted courts martial against the Young Turk dictators. including the ministers of War. Interior. and Navy and other members of the dominant Committee of Union and Progress [CUP] who had perpetrated the genocide of the Armenians. These proceedings established. beyond any doubt. that the deportations and massacres against the Armenian people during the War were planned and premeditated. The aim of the policy was clearly the extermination of all Armenians in Ottoman Turkish territories. The evidence gathered and introduced at these trials included official telegrams sent by the central government to the provinces and accounts by eyewitnesses from various nationalities.
