Session #101 · 1989–91

Speech #1010099318

We suggested that that kind of language be used. and we were told to forget it. that the only motion that was going to be offered was the Armstrong amendmenttake it or leave it. In conference. on the Armstrong amendment. we are going to leave it. We are going to leave it because it is bad immigration law. and it does not protect these individuals who are fleeing persecution. People who want Members to take it. even though it is bad immigration law. they could vote for the motion to instruct. However. those who would like Members to actually do the job of crafting protective immigration law. they should vote against it.
