Session #101 · 1989–91

Speech #1010073933

I thank the managers of the bill and my distinguished colleague from Wyoming. I appreciate his cooperation. We dealt at length with the issues that were discussed here tonight. and this is a good amendment. I think it confirms the fact that the United States says "Come here If you are seeking freedom." We have the capacity to absorb a given number of refugees. We want to be able to say to those people. come here once you have established the fact there is persecution or harassment. the doors are open. I thank the Senator and hpe we will adopt the amendment.
