Session #101 · 1989–91

Speech #1010069251

Mr. Speaker. I rise today to pay tribute to the Carovillese Mutual Aid Society of Campbell. from my 17th Congressional District of Ohio. The Carovillese Mutual Aid Society was formed by an outstanding group of individuals who immigrated here from Italy early in the 20th century. At this time many men and women left the quaint mountainside village of Carovilli. Italy to seek employment and a better life in America. They settled predominatly In Akron. East Youngstown. and Youngstown. OH. There they worked together in the steel mills and began to settle into their new lives in the United States.
