In October of 1985. 500 Brooklyn children participated in the Childrens Parade for Peace. commemorating the 40th anniversary of the United Nations. One month later. many students attended the Children for Peace Concert. where actor Peter Boyle presented district 15 with the Cathedral Peace Education Award. One participating schoolP.S. 230has developed a sisterschool relationship with a school for refugee children in the Philippines. and there are plans in the works for certain classes to participate in an exchange of videos with children in India. I am also pleased to note that several articles in the press have given favorable coverage to the Model Peace Education Program. Stories about the program have appeared in the Christian Science Monitor.
