House Resolution 230 is an open rule providing for the consideration of the bill H.R. 618. which would provide for a General Accounting Office study on conditions of displaced Salvadorans and Nicaraguans. and would also temporarily suspend the deportation of certain Salvadorans and Nicaraguans. currently residing in the United States. Mr. Speaker. the rule provides 2 hours of general debate. with 1 hour to be equally divided between the chairman and ranking minority member on the Committee on Judiciary. and 1 hour to be equally divided between the chairman and ranking minority on the Committee on Rules.
