Session #100 · 1987–89

Speech #1000078499

I thank the gentleman and would recommend to any Member of this House who wants to try to figure out who the good guys and who the bad guys are in this situation. and who commits atrocities and who does not commit atrocities. to go to the neutral ground of the U.N. refugee camps in Honduras and simply ask the refugees. ask the people with no political ax to grind. the campesinos who have been displaced what happened to them. what was their relationship with the Sandinistas and why are they there in Honduras instead over on the other side in their native Nicaragua. I thank the gentleman for helping me to kind of work a summation. if you will. this afternoon. of the 1minute speeches that we had this morning and the presentation of Colonel Norths slides. I think these slides will have an effect on the American people. I hope they will be distributed by Members of Congress throughout this great land so that we can truly educate this country as to what is taking place in Central America before these very critical votes. I thank the gentleman. and I yield back the balance of my time.
