As free individuals. most of us take for granted every day luxuries such as a private telephone. freedom to practice religion. and education for children. Imagine that Naum for the past decade has not been able to enjoy any of these luxuries simply because he has expressed a desire to leave the Soviet Union. Instead. Naum has been the subject of religious persecution and harassment. It is time for the Soviet Government to grant Naum Meiman his freedom and demonstrate their desire for better United StatesSoviet relations. I strongly urge the Soviet Union to allow Naur to emigrate to Israel.*
