I urge and appeal to my colleagues in the Senate on the Judiciary Committee. the leadership. who have worked on this immigration legislation. Senators SIMPSON and KENNEDY. and others. that we sit down with the leadership in the Congress. the Attorney General. the Secretary of Agriculture. the Secretary of Labor. and address this approaching problem. There are some adjustments that could be made to make the law a little more flexible temporarily so the word can get out. so the workers can come across the border and harvest these perishable crops.
