I would like to bring to the attention of my colleagues a vigil currently being held near the Soviet Embassy in Washington. Leon Charney is protesting the refusal of the Soviet Government to grant his brother. Benjamin. an exit visa so that he may seek cancer treatment. Benjamin Charney is a 49yearold mathematician who lives in Moscow. Since 1979 he has suffered from both malignant skin cancer and a critical heart condition that has required frequent emergency treatment and hospitalization.
