She knew better than anyone the pressures a career in Congress place on a family. and she reminded us of the need to focus on our families. not just our work here in the House. As a son of immigrants. I felt a particularly close kinship to SALA. I saw in her the same instincts I saw in my own parentsthe kindness. the toughness. the compassion.
