He is now an elementary bilingual education teacher at Chaparral Elementary School in the Gadsden School District and a parttime Englishasasecondlanguage teacher at the Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces. He is working on a masters degree in education at the University of Texas at El Paso. A native of Chihuahua. Mr. Armendariz has become a naturalized U.S. citizen and has been teaching for 7 years in New Mexico. And for 7 years he has enriched the lives of his students. contributed to the educational excellence of our State. and showed us by his example what one good teacher can do. He is by no means the only good teacher. but his example certainly speaks admirably for all teachers on this day.*
