Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990283732

There is no reason we should not finish at a reasonable hour today but. of course. reasonable hours here are sometimes defined differently by different people. I am going to reserve the time of the distinguished minority leader. After the leaders time there will be routine morning business. not to extend beyond the hour of 10:30 a.m. with Senators permitted to speak for not more than 5 minutes each and then we will go back to House Joint Resolution 738. By unanimous consent at 1 p.m. a cloture vote will occur on the motion to invoke cloture on the immigration bill. But we are really about done. I do not want to discourage Members because the reconciliation as I understand has been worked out.
