Mr. President. the conference report specifies that nonimmigrant workers admitted or permitted to remain in the United States for agricultural labor or services shall be treated like lawful permanent resident aliens for purposes of eligibility for legal services under the Legal Services Corporation Act. Or in other words. the provision provides limited legal services for migrant farmworkersworkers who remain foreign nationals. services which would not be automatically provided for U.S. citizens similarly situated. I find this provision to be questionable. Mr. President. for these reasons and for a desire to protect the American worker. I am compelled to vote "no" on the conference report on S. 1200. the Immigration Reform and Control Act. Thank you. Mr.
