Let us take another look at what we have set up and what we are doing here. I think that we made a strong statement when we voted against annesty in that we did not want to reward those who have violated our laws. But you are not going to send them back. There are millions and millions of illegal aliens in this country that now will have an opportunity to start on the road toward citizenship. They will have the opportunity to come out of the shadows. Now. you may think that is rewarding them. and I guess it is rewarding them in a way. but what is the alternative?
