Are you hurting Members of this Congress? No. we will be here. we will be paid. You are hurting the people who are completely innocent. the Border Patrol. Immigration and Naturalization Service. the Federal Bureau of Investigation. who have to work. no assurance they are going to be paid. you are going to be hurting the people around the country in military service. the cooks. the caretakers. the guards. all of these people who in some way are going to have to be told "Well. on a promise. you are going to be paid." Those are the innocent people here. By not extending this. you are not putting any pressure on the Appropriations Committee. not in the least. Because we are going to move as rapidly as we and the other body can get together and work out these differences.
