I would Urge this amendment be defeated. Well. if we leave this section in the bill. we wont need the program because the net effect will be to exempt agriculture from employer sanctions because a search warrant must be obtained before INS could enter a field. Employers will be able to hide in "plain view" aliens who are unlawfully in the United States. The Detroit sector of the Border Patrol covers the States of Michigan. Ohio. Indiana and Illinois with a grand total of 18 agents. How are they going to effectively run a check. obtain a warrant. and execute the warrant say in southern Illinois or Ohio in a timely and cost effective manner?
