I did not get everything that I thought was best. I did the best I could. I am asking Members on my side to join with the President in his quest to get immigration reform. He has asked us to have immigration reform. No President in the last 20 years has done more to have immigration reform than this President. This is not precisely what he would draft. it is not precisely what I would draft. it is not precisely what the gentleman from Kentucky or the gentleman from New Jersey would draft. but it is what we have got before us. If we continue in our pursuit of perfection for a rule or a bill. we will defeat the best we can do.
