Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990262315

Unfortunately. there are still people in the Soviet Union who are being held against their will. My two good friends. Naum and Inna Meiman. have been attempting to emigrate to the West for more than a decade. After removing four malignant tumors from Innas spine. the Soviet doctors foresee no future treatment for Innas fifth and most recent tumor. Although experimental treatment is available for Inna here in the West. the Soviets refuse her permission to leave. The Meimans should not have to suffer because of politics. This is a minor request. but one which would save an innocent human life. I strongly urge the Soviet Union to allow Naum and Irma Meiman to emigrate to Israel.o
