Mr. President. the hour is very late. Everybody on this floor is very tired. but I am going to detain us for just a couple of minutes in order to make a plea. The plea is earnest and arises from a situation that has been timely reported in the public press as being out of control. The border has been described as hemorrhaging. It is my hope that we can see an immigration reform bill very close to that passed by the Senate become law this year. Because. Mr. President. what the able and energetic Senator from Wyoming has described as his fear is in fact becoming a reality.
