I know that not only the House. but the Nation. loses a very. very valuable American. who has contributed so richly and so creatively to the common good. Mr. Speaker. today. in having rejected the rule that was presented to us with respect to bringing up the amendments to the Immigration and Nationality Act. the House I believe acted wisely. I was one of those who voted against moving the previous question and against the rule. I was denied even a halfminute opportunity to speak. by both sides. to whom I went and solicited as much as just half a minute.
