The church was founded in the late 1920s by a group of 20 immigrant families. whose commitment and courage laid the foundation for a holy place of worship that now serves 240 families in the Flint area. The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. which received its charter in 1928. has been a constant and unwavering source of spiritual strength for its congregation. In its early days and after the church buildings construction in 1961. the vibrant spiritual life of this church has been manifest through its sacred traditions of worship and its active service to the community.
