Mr. Speaker. I rise today to bring to the attention of my colleagues and the Nation an event that will be held September 21. 1986. in Flint. MI. commemorating the founding of the St. George Orthodox Church. On this day the St. George Orthodox Church will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Historic St. George Orthodox Church can trace its humble beginnings to the determined efforts of several pious Arab immigrants. In 1936. the group began to meet in the homes of parishioners to worship together. In 1938. the devoted congregation initiated construction of the St. George Orthodox Church at its initial location in the north end of Flint.
